About me
Hi, I’m Essie. Here’s a little insight into why I create.
Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From being a little girl who loved to draw and paint, to being awarded an art scholarship throughout my time at college, creating has always been one of the most natural ways for me to express myself. Along the way, I had an art teacher who became a huge inspiration to me, encouraging me to explore my creativity, trust my ideas and embrace my own artistic style.
My work is driven by my love for colour, movement and expression. I love experimenting with different styles and techniques, whether that’s painting horses, creating portraits of music artists who inspire me, or simply letting my imagination take over. I’m drawn to pieces that feel alive, where expressive brushstrokes, bold colours and imperfect details can communicate something that words sometimes cannot.
Music plays a huge part in my creative process, often influencing the energy, rhythm and emotion behind my work. I love that art doesn’t have to follow rules or fit into one particular style. For me, it’s about exploring, feeling and creating something that feels personal, even when I can’t quite explain why.
Most importantly, I create because it makes me happy. I want my work to feel honest, expressive and full of character, and I hope that something in my art resonates with you, too. Whether it reminds you of a feeling, a memory or simply makes you stop and look, I believe art is something to be experienced and shared.
Thank you for being here and taking a little piece of my creative world with you.
